Episode 2 features my interview with Amy Oestreicher. Amy is a professional speaker, PTSD peer-to-peer specialist, artist, author, writer for The Huffington Post, speaker for TEDx and RAINN, health advocate, survivor, award-winning actress, and playwright. Amy eagerly shares the lessons learned from trauma through her writing, mixed media art, performance and inspirational speaking. Find out Amy's story of recovery after discovering she would need to live without her stomach at the age of 18. We also discuss the subject of telling your story. What if you're not ready? How do you know your story is worth telling? You'll learn how your values help you determine what to talk about on stage and how you can inspire others through your values. You'll find out why you shouldn't roll your eyes at the thought of a "Gratitude List" and the unconventional way Amy books speaking gigs. You'll hear Amy's #1 piece of advice for new speakers, find out why you shouldn't have a five year plan, and so much more!
Here it is! My first podcast episode. I've been thinking about starting a podcast since 2009 and thought maybe it was time to roll one out, as imperfect as it may be. I decided to jump right in even though I don't have every single question answered yet and I'm still learning about the world of podcasting. I like to learn as I go and encourage people to stop waiting and start creating. This podcast is an excellent example of that. In this podcast series, you'll learn from industry experts, pro speakers, authors, interesting people, and others I have yet to identify to help you, a creative + entrepreneurial woman, become an inspiring speaker who gets paid. Without further ado, let me introduce you to my work in progress.
